Tick Tock Tick Tock

The big day is getting ever so close and Tania and I couldn't be more excited about it. We're finalizing details for the wedding with our planners Stewart and Vanessa. We're doing constant investigative work for the Asia trip. And we're selling everything we own at our estate sale this Saturday (3pm on 10/10 if you're around and looking for some great items for your house). Tania has been done with work this week while tomorrow is my last day at Deutsch. She's been running around getting loose ends tied up, including ordering our visas for China. We've already got the visas for Vietnam, so we should be set after all of that is done. Nuts.

There is still a ton we want to do in LA before we drive off into the sunset on 10/22. Restaurants to eat at. Hikes to hike. Naps at the beach. Friends to spend every available second with. And just taking in this amazing city of LA. We will remember it fondly.

Speaking of remembering fondly, my Uncle Michael passed away last week after a long bout with cancer. He fought like a soldier until the very end, and made sure that he did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possibly for his family. I flew back to the NJ shore to be with everyone, which really made the whole thing easier. Nothing like family to lean on in tough times. I hope Jo, little Michael, Nat, and Sammy are all coping well and finding the brightest parts of their days. I love and miss you guys.

Well, back to getting things ready for our departure. Hopefully everyone had a great week, and for those that are joining us down in PV, hopefully you are getting extremely excited for the incredible week we have ahead of us.

Talk soon,
Craig

Invites are out!

Well I never thought we'd get to this point, but the wedding invitations have been sent, and we're starting to hear from people that they've received theirs. Whewwwwwwwww!!!! What a task, but damn was it worth it. They look incredible, in my not-so-humble opinion. We hope you agree. If you don't receive yours by the end of this week, let us know and we'll look into it.

Hopefully by now everyone has their flight and hotel/villa reservations made. There have been some great deals flying around out there (pun intended), so we're hoping you were able to take advantage of them. I guess there is an upside to the swine flu. (I'm gonna get in trouble for that one tonight)

Tania's birthday was last week and we had a loooong string of events to celebrate. She went to Vegas with the girls, we went to see Stellastarr* at the Troubadour, we went on a ghetto bus for our friend Rebecca's bday, we had drinks at the amazing rooftop bar High in Venice, sushi at Hama, an afternoon at the Getty Villa, and another concert to see Lykke Li at the Wiltern. Then Tania capped the week off by going to the So You Think You Can Dance finale at the Kodak Theater with her friend Christen (aka C-Dawg!!!). My girl Jeanine won, which ruled, and ruled even more when Tania found out she also attended Ransom Everglades high school. They churn out some great dancers down there, Tania being the best. (hopefully making up for the swine flu comment)

Okay, off to start the work week. Hope everyone is happy and well, and enjoying the waning weeks of summer.

See ya.

Wedding favors are done!

Hey everyone!

We just locked down the wedding favors and should be receiving them in the next few weeks. We're pretty sure that you are going to appreciate them long after the wedding week.

We'll also be heading into the printer on Friday for the invitation press check. Once that's done, we'll have the invitations ready to send out in early August. Tania and her friends with good handwriting have a lot of work to do on the envelopes. For the first time in my life, I'm glad that I have horrible chicken scratch...I mean handwriting.

Tania's off to Vegas this weekend for her 2nd bachelorette party with Sarah, Vanessa, and Liz. I'll be heading up to Cambria to support Matt, Marshall, and Jess who are doing a triathlon. Oh, and speaking of Matt and Jess, they just got engaged last Friday!!!! We're really excited for them, and can't wait to celebrate their big day.

Alright, have a great rest of the week and talk soon.

Summer Time In Venice

Hey everyone, Tania and I are just sitting here finalizing the wedding invites and a few other to do's. So You THINK You Can Dance isn't on until tomorrow, so we're not sure what to do with the night. We did have a nice walk on the beach after work, but since the beach was lined with trash that the seagulls pulled out of the cans, we diverted back to the boardwalk and headed home.

Any way, we hope you are all having a great summer so far. We've been at the Hollywood Bowl the past two Sundays to see Death Cab For Cutie, Tegan and Sara, The New Pornographers, Adele, and Chaka Kahn. We're going back this Sunday to see Ray Lamontagne, Jenny Lewis, and Blitzen Trapper. Man we love the summer time at the bowl.

We spent the 4th at our friend Dwayne and Sukni's place in the Marina with the whole crew. The fireworks were right up close and amazing, but not as amazing as the series of arm wrestling matches had between the women at the party. Tania represented and beat one of the girls. It was Chee, which doesn't say much, but at least she won one match! I even got in on the action to prove I still have it in me. Here are some pictures from the day.

Alright, have a great rest of the week and get ready for the invites to show up in the coming weeks.

See ya,
Craig

Baby Ian and Mexico Update

Hey everyone. Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend relaxing with family/friends, and also thanking those who have served our country so proudly and selflessly. We were in Phoenix with my family, most importantly the newest member Ian. He is growing up so quickly, it's amazing. He's also really, really chunky which is so fricking awesome! I just want to take a bite out of him. Yet to keep Emily happy, I refrained from doing so.

So we're only a few months away from the wedding, and even though it may seem like a long ways off, it's just around the corner. Be sure to book your hotel asap to take advantage of the deals we've negotiated (details on craigandtania.com). Also, if you have any questions or concerns about how safe it is to travel to Mexico (swine flu, violence), feel free to visit this website which should either have answers for you, or you can contact the site with different questions.

Rest assured that the trip will be completely safe. All of this overblown media hype is actually going to make it an even more affordable trip for everyone, which we love.

Alright, have a great week and keep an eye out for invitations in mid-late July.

Bye!
Craig

Long Time No Blog

Sorry it's been so long since we wrote anything on the blog, but it's been a crazy few months in the Sherlumbo household. Along with busy work lives, we've been to wedding planning trips to Puerto Vallarta with the moms, weddings in Austin, music festivals in Palm Springs, nephew births in Phoenix, wedding showers in Miami, bachelorette parties in DC, work functions in San Francisco, and many other fun times around the LA area. Yet, here we are, a few months from the wedding, and we're more or less ready for the big day. There are a few minor details to be hashed out, but all in all, we're ready for the big day.

We know that some of you were initially concerned over reports that Mexico is a dangerous place to visit, but please rest assured that we will be safe in PV. It's a safe town with the kindest of people walking the streets. Of course, we recommend not taking day trips into the country side with American flags waving from your car windows, but you would never do that, would you?

Then news broke about the dreaded swine flu. From how the news was portraying it, is was the next coming of the plague. Well, as do most stories that lead on the nightly news, the severity of the swine flu was finally revealed to be no more serious than the average flu. So, by the time the wedding is here, all traces of the swine flu will be under wraps, and we will be clear for a happy and healthy week south of the border.

Okay, Tania and I need to get home and start preparing for our first beach party of the summer. We're serving chucka and carne asada tacos, so give us a call if you're in the neighborhood so you can join us for some fun in the sun. But if you can't this weekend, we'll have plenty of beach fun in just over five months. WOO HOOO!!!!

Have a great weeekend,
C&T

Moving along

Sorry it's been so long for writing, but we've been plenty busy over the last month. Cardinals in the Super Bowl, Tania being honored into Yahoo's prestigious Winner's Circle, Brad Gurasich's bachelor party, basically all of Tania's friends being pregnant, cheering on Sabrina, working our asses off, my 31st birthday, and plenty of random good times with friends. We just finished a perfect three day Valentine's weekend which consisted of visiting our priest at St. Marks (who asked Tania three times if she was sure she wanted to marry me), helping Christen paint her kick-ass new condo, sledding in Big Bear, watching Wall E, and registering at Crate and Barrel. Now it's back to work tomorrow.

Most of the planning for the wedding is finished, but Tania is heading down to PV with both of our moms this weekend to cross every t and dot every i. Not only is this exciting because Tania will be able to see first-hand all of the locations, but she will be introducing our moms for the first time. We're sure they'll love each other.

Once Tania is completely happy with everything in PV, we'll send another email to all invitees confirming all details so that you can make plans confidently. So, keep an eye out for that email over the next few weeks.

Okay, we hope you all had great Valentine's Days as well, and are happy and healthy.

Talk soon.
