Hey everyone. Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend relaxing with family/friends, and also thanking those who have served our country so proudly and selflessly. We were in Phoenix with my family, most importantly the newest member Ian. He is growing up so quickly, it's amazing. He's also really, really chunky which is so fricking awesome! I just want to take a bite out of him. Yet to keep Emily happy, I refrained from doing so.
So we're only a few months away from the wedding, and even though it may seem like a long ways off, it's just around the corner. Be sure to book your hotel asap to take advantage of the deals we've negotiated (details on craigandtania.com). Also, if you have any questions or concerns about how safe it is to travel to Mexico (swine flu, violence), feel free to visit this website which should either have answers for you, or you can contact the site with different questions.

Rest assured that the trip will be completely safe. All of this overblown media hype is actually going to make it an even more affordable trip for everyone, which we love.
Alright, have a great week and keep an eye out for invitations in mid-late July.
Bye!

Long Time No Blog
Sorry it's been so long since we wrote anything on the blog, but it's been a crazy few months in the Sherlumbo household. Along with busy work lives, we've been to wedding planning trips to Puerto Vallarta with the moms, weddings in Austin, music festivals in Palm Springs, nephew births in Phoenix, wedding showers in Miami, bachelorette parties in DC, work functions in San Francisco, and many other fun times around the LA area. Yet, here we are, a few months from the wedding, and we're more or less ready for the big day. There are a few minor details to be hashed out, but all in all, we're ready for the big day.
We know that some of you were initially concerned over reports that Mexico is a dangerous place to visit, but please rest assured that we will be safe in PV. It's a safe town with the kindest of people walking the streets. Of course, we recommend not taking day trips into the country side with American flags waving from your car windows, but you would never do that, would you?
Then news broke about the dreaded swine flu. From how the news was portraying it, is was the next coming of the plague. Well, as do most stories that lead on the nightly news, the severity of the swine flu was finally revealed to be no more serious than the average flu. So, by the time the wedding is here, all traces of the swine flu will be under wraps, and we will be clear for a happy and healthy week south of the border.
Okay, Tania and I need to get home and start preparing for our first beach party of the summer. We're serving chucka and carne asada tacos, so give us a call if you're in the neighborhood so you can join us for some fun in the sun. But if you can't this weekend, we'll have plenty of beach fun in just over five months. WOO HOOO!!!!
Have a great weeekend,
C&T

Moving along
Sorry it's been so long for writing, but we've been plenty busy over the last month. Cardinals in the Super Bowl, Tania being honored into Yahoo's prestigious Winner's Circle, Brad Gurasich's bachelor party, basically all of Tania's friends being pregnant, cheering on Sabrina, working our asses off, my 31st birthday, and plenty of random good times with friends. We just finished a perfect three day Valentine's weekend which consisted of visiting our priest at St. Marks (who asked Tania three times if she was sure she wanted to marry me), helping Christen paint her kick-ass new condo, sledding in Big Bear, watching Wall E, and registering at Crate and Barrel. Now it's back to work tomorrow.
Most of the planning for the wedding is finished, but Tania is heading down to PV with both of our moms this weekend to cross every t and dot every i. Not only is this exciting because Tania will be able to see first-hand all of the locations, but she will be introducing our moms for the first time. We're sure they'll love each other.
Once Tania is completely happy with everything in PV, we'll send another email to all invitees confirming all details so that you can make plans confidently. So, keep an eye out for that email over the next few weeks.
Okay, we hope you all had great Valentine's Days as well, and are happy and healthy.
Talk soon.

Wednesday Night Lights
Tania and I are knee deep in a Friday Night Lights marathon, and we're wrapping up the season finalle. If you've never watched it, you should start. So good. And according to Tania, even if you don't like the show, you'll like Riggins, pictured here with my girl Minka. Man we miss Smash.

So we signed the contract with our planner this week, meaning we are all set. The food is planned, the chapel is booked, the transportation is reserved, and we couldn't be more excited to start focussing on the small details. Tania's folder with tear-outs from more magazines than I can count seems like it's serving as plenty of guidance for those tiny details. I'm done with mine. The guayaberas are ordered for the groomsmen, so the only detail left is what to do with them on Friday afternoon . Golf, fishing, ... I'm not sure yet. Oh well, we've got a bit of time left (ahem, 10 months). First things first, it's time to fly back to Phoenix this weekend to watch the Cardinals earn their way into the Super Bowl. AWW AWW, AWW AWW

Back to work
It's the first Monday after the new year, meaning it's time to head back to work. One of the perks of working in advertising is that we normally get a nice size chunk of time off over the holidays. Even though it's to offset the long hours we work the other 11.5 months of the year, it's nice when it's upon us.
Tania and I had the best time possible in Atlanta with her family over Christmas. We played with the kids, had lunch and saw the Terracata Warrior exhibit at the High Museum with her parents, cooked the family an Italian feast, took the kids to see A Tale of Despereaux, and overall relaxed with everyone. Such a great time.
Then on the 30th we flew down to Ft. Lauderdale and drove to West Palm Beach to spend the day with my Grandma Vadas. It was great having a few hours to catch up with her. We then had dinner with Tania's cousin Carina and crashed at her place. Then the next morning we hung out at my college buddy Josh Samuels' new condo which he had just closed on that week. Once again, such a great but quick trip with some of our favorite people.
We then headed down to Miami for new years eve. We went to a fun party in Key Biscayne with Rebecca and Danny and danced our tails off all night. Too bad Tandican couldn't join us. ;) After a ton of Frankie's pizza, we headed to South Beach to enjoy the incredible weather. I couldn't believe it was the dead of winter and we were lying on the hot beach. On our last day, we spent a good two hours in a guayabera store (guyaberaetc.com) trying on clothes for the groomsmen. I could have replaced my entire wardrobe with all Cuban clothing since I was so into it. Maybe it was the Cuban coffee I had just downed, or maybe it was excitement for nailing down another aspect of the wedding. Either way, my boys and I are going to look good next Halloween.
It's nice to be back home in our own bed and with our friends, even though we have to go back to work in a few minutes. At least we have more planning to look forward to whenever a mental diversion is needed over the next few months.
Happy new year everyone!

ColdLanta
It's the day after Christmas, and all through the house, are gifts for the children, even a doll house. The kids are napping, the women are bridesmaid dress shopping, and the men are Wii'ing and enjoying the silence. It was a great few days with the Shershin clan celebrating Santa's arrival. The weather hasn't been the best, but a large group of people came over on Christmas Eve with incredible food, lots of Xmas spirit, and the perfect mix of white elephant gifts to create the most exciting swapping and stealing we've ever been a part of. After everyone left, we all went to bed, Santa did his thing, and we awoke to the kid's joy with their new gifts. After mass, we headed back to the house and finished opening the gifts, went on a walk, ate some leftovers, then went to see"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." I loved it while Tania nd Patrick were only marginally happy with it. Think a not-so-goofy Forrest Gump. I give it 4.5 stars, so take that for what it's worth. Ali and James are taking off tonight. Boooooo. At least we get to move from the air mattress to a real bed. :)
Hope everyone had a great holiday, and are able to relax a bit.

The save the dates went out!!!!
Yes, it finally happened...the save the dates were sent! After many hours of refining the invite list, the website, and our special little invitation layout, all of our guests can now start making plans for the wedding next year. Hopefully the website contains all necessary information to make their reservations, but if not, feel free to email Tania or me with questions.
Tomorrow we take off for Atlanta to spend Christmas with Tania's family at her sister Roxy's house (and Patrick, too). We're ready to bring all of our cold weather clothes since I hear it's far from Hotlanta this time of year. We're excited to relax with her family, play with Conor and Iowa, see some movies (Benjamin Button!!!!), and watch a little football. As of today, 5 games into the bowl season, Tania and her dad are in first place. I'm close behind in third, and my parents are cleaning the cellar. Should be fun to watch it all unfold.
Then on the 30th, we're headed down to Miami for new years. We're going to stop off and see my Grandma and good college friend Josh in West Palm Beach before hitting up Miami. We'll lay low on New Year's Eve with our friends Rebecca, Danny, and Tandican. ;)
We wish all the best for everyone over Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and new years.
Also, our prayers are with Sabrina as she heads into surgery today. You'll be fixed and back on the yoga mat very soon, Sab!
All our best.
